Do’s and Don’ts in COVID-19

Do’s

1. Hand wash

  • Regularly washing hands for 30 seconds will help in avoiding germs or any kind of infection.
  • Use soap & water or an alcohol based hand sanitizer for better results and do every time you travel, touch anything or go for shopping or come back home.

2. Cover your mouth & nose

  • Cover your mouth and nose while sneezing, coughing, talking or when anyone next to you coughs or sneezes.
  • CORONAVIRUS DISEASE usually spreads through cough or droplets from the mouth and covering your nose and mouth can save you from this pandemic

3. Consult a doctor if you feel sick

  • If you are suffering from a common cold, cough, fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, shortness of breath or fatigue then consult a doctor as soon as possible.
  • In such circumstances kindly consult a physician.

4. Stay indoors

  • Avoid being in crowded places such as shopping centres and if possible maintain distance.
  • An infected person can spread the virus instantly and crowded areas are the place where virus can easily spread.
  • Don’t forget to wear full sleeves shirts with anti-pollution masks whenever you travel. If possible stay at home and go outside only when it is absolutely necessary.

Don’ts

1. Avoid close contact with anyone

  • Avoid getting close to anyone, especially touching, talking or laughing closely.
  • It’s better to use anti-pollution or face masks when out with your friends or family.
  • Avoid touching anyone without precautions and do not use the same utensils used by any other person.

2. Do not spit

  • Spitting can increase the spread of the virus through droplets. So it should be strictly prohibited.
  • Avoid spiting at in public area or at home.
  • Avoid getting close to a sick person suffering from cold and cough.

3. Avoid using public transport

  • Avoid travelling by public transports such as cab, bus, train etc. as these can get you infected.
  • Use face masks and carry an alcohol based hand sanitizer with you everywhere.
  • If possible, consider travelling by your own vehicle and avoid public transports.
  • In case you are feeling sick, then you must avoid travelling and immediately consult a doctor as soon as possible.

4. Do not use over the counter medicines

  • If you suffer from any of the symptoms such as dry cough, back pain, nausea, shortness of breath, mild fever, then it is recommended that you must consult a doctor rather than opting for self-medication which is not only dangerous but it can also leave you battling with a distressing disease.
  • Strictly avoid the use of antibiotics as it can further lead to antibiotic resistance.

5. Don’t Panic, Take It Easy

  • It is mostly seen that anxiety & fear may compel you to take wrong decisions and go for self-medication.
  • Most important task for you to keep in mind is maintaining hygiene. For example, regular hand washing, use of face masks and consult a doctor if you are sick.
  • Many people are well and still worried. They are the ones with feared health complaint in whom no diagnosis is made. Regular washing and cleaning can turn into obsession out of fear. Living in constant state of fear affects quality of life. Share your feelings with loved ones or take a professional help.

6. Don’t Touch Your Face

  • Don’t touch your face, nose and mouth too often
  • You can use clean tissue and discard them after use. This will avoid the risks of developing the virus infection.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap & water or hand sanitizer and this will work better, even if you accidentally touch your face.

7. Do not eat or drink preferably when you are outside

  • Do complete gargling with salt and warm water when you come back home.
